Youth models may offer smaller size ranges and adjustment systems designed for growing riders, while adult models generally cover larger head measurements and additional fit shapes. Purchase according to the rider’s current measurement and fit, not simply the age label.

Replace it after a significant impact or fall, even when the outer shell does not show obvious damage, and follow the manufacturer’s age and replacement guidance. Also replace it when the harness, shell, dial, or liner is damaged or when the helmet can no longer be fitted securely.
